Electric Heating, Explained
Common questions about Bromic's electric infrared heating range, installation, and performance.
The range is differentiated by output, mounting style, and intended application. Eclipse is the architectural pendant model with integrated lighting; Platinum is a discreet built-in ceiling option; Tungsten offers wall or ceiling mounting with higher output; Cobalt is built for commercial-grade performance; and Eclipse Portable is freestanding for flexible placement.
Yes. All Bromic electric models require a dedicated electrical circuit and should be installed by a licensed electrician. This ensures the unit is wired correctly for its voltage and wattage requirements, and that mounting is structurally secure for ceiling or wall installation.
Coverage depends on the model and wattage. As a general guide, a 2000W unit covers approximately 13 square feet, while higher-output models like the Cobalt 6000W can cover up to 160 square feet. Mounting height and wind exposure also affect actual coverage — we recommend a consultation for precise sizing.
Bromic's electric heaters are designed and IP-rated for outdoor use, including exposure to rain and humidity. However, we recommend covered or semi-covered installation locations for ceiling and wall-mounted models to maximize longevity. The Eclipse Portable's enclosure is also built to withstand outdoor conditions when not in direct, prolonged exposure.
Yes. When paired with the Affinity Smart-Heat® Dimmer Controller, Bromic's electric range supports app control, scheduling, and zone management. This integration works well with both residential smart home setups and commercial building automation systems.
Electric heaters use infrared radiant technology to warm people and surfaces directly — they're quiet, low-maintenance, and architecturally discreet. Gas heaters generally produce higher heat output and suit larger, open-air spaces. The right choice depends on your space type, ceiling height, and available infrastructure.
