What makes the Coronado different from the Del Mar?
The Coronado and Del Mar are both rectangular GFRC fire pits, but the Coronado goes further — it adds a full Metal Collection (Corten Steel, Stainless Steel, Hammered Copper, and Powder Coat) alongside the GFRC Wood Grain option. The Coronado also offers Fire Glow ignition across all materials, which the Del Mar does not. If you want more material flexibility or the raw look of metal, the Coronado is the right choice.
Is Fire Glow available on Corten Steel and Hammered Copper?
Yes — unlike some other TOP fire pits, Fire Glow is available on all Coronado materials including Corten Steel, Stainless Steel, and Hammered Copper. All six ignition options are available regardless of body material.
What size Coronado should I choose?
The 48" Coronado works well for smaller patios, intimate seating areas, or as a secondary fire feature. It pairs well with seating groups of 2–4. For larger patios or main entertaining spaces, consider the 60", 72", or larger sizes.
Can I use this with liquid propane instead of natural gas?
Yes. The Coronado is available in both Natural Gas and Liquid Propane configurations. Select your gas type when ordering. Propane tanks are not included and must be sourced separately.
What is GFRC Wood Grain concrete?
GFRC stands for Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete — a lightweight, high-strength concrete composite. The Wood Grain finish is hand-applied to create a realistic wood texture in the concrete surface, available in Ebony, Ivory, and Oak colorways. Each piece is individually finished, so slight natural variation is expected and is not a defect.
What finish should I choose for a coastal environment?
Stainless Steel is the top recommendation for coastal or high-humidity environments. GFRC Wood Grain is also an excellent choice. Corten Steel and Hammered Copper will patina more aggressively in salt air — which some customers prefer aesthetically.
Is the Coronado suitable for a covered patio?
Yes, with conditions. Gas fire pits can be installed under a covered structure provided there is adequate clearance and ventilation. We recommend consulting a licensed gas professional before installation under any covered structure.
How long does delivery take?
The Coronado Fire Pit ships within 2–4 weeks of order. Free white-glove delivery is included to the contiguous United States.
Do I need a gas line professionally installed?
Natural gas configurations require a dedicated gas line installed by a licensed plumber or gas fitter. Propane configurations connect to a standard tank and may be set up without professional installation depending on your local code.

Choose options
Choose Your Coronado
Five distinct material options. Each with its own finish palette, weathering character, and visual identity. Select a material below to explore your options.
GFRC Wood Grain Concrete
Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete with a hand-applied wood grain surface texture. The Coronado's Wood Grain option delivers the organic warmth of timber in a material that's built for outdoor permanence — no rot, no warp, no maintenance.
Each piece is individually hand-finished at The Outdoor Plus's California facility. Natural variation in texture and tone is expected and is a hallmark of the handmade process, not a defect.
| Material | Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete |
| Surface | Hand-applied wood grain texture |
| Colors | Ebony, Ivory, Oak |
| Weight | Heavier than metal options |
| Weathering | Stable — no patina development |
| Best For | Residential patios, coastal environments, modern/organic aesthetics |
| Maintenance | Minimal — occasional cleaning only |
Powder Coat Steel
A precision-applied electrostatically bonded finish over a steel substrate. Powder coat delivers consistent, even colour coverage with excellent UV and weather resistance — available in 20+ colours spanning from neutral to bold.
The widest colour palette in the Coronado collection. If you want a specific colour to match your outdoor furniture or architecture, this is your material.
| Material | Steel with powder coat finish |
| Colors | 20+ colours |
| Weathering | Stable — no patina development |
| Best For | Design-forward spaces, colour-matched installations |
| Ignition | All 6 options including Fire Glow |
| Maintenance | Occasional cleaning — avoid abrasives |
Corten Steel
Corten — also known as weathering steel — is designed to rust on purpose. Its protective oxidised surface layer develops naturally over time, starting silver-grey and transitioning through orange and amber tones to a deep, stable rust patina. The process takes 6–18 months depending on your environment.
The entry material of the Coronado Metal Collection and the lowest price point across all sizes. Raw, industrial, and unmistakably bold.
| Material | Weathering steel (Corten) |
| Color | N/A — natural rust patina develops over time |
| Weathering | Active — develops orange/amber rust patina |
| Patina Timeline | 6–18 months to full patina |
| Best For | Industrial, raw, or natural aesthetics |
| Ignition | All 6 options including Fire Glow |
| Coastal Note | Will patina more aggressively in salt air |
| Maintenance | None required — patina is the finish |
Stainless Steel
304-grade stainless steel delivers the highest corrosion resistance in the Coronado Metal Collection — the premium choice for coastal environments, pool decks, and high-humidity installations. Clean, architectural, and permanently bright.
The stainless finish maintains its appearance indefinitely without patina development, making it ideal for design contexts where consistency matters.
| Material | 304-grade stainless steel |
| Color | N/A — brushed stainless finish |
| Weathering | Minimal — highest corrosion resistance |
| Best For | Coastal, poolside, high-humidity environments |
| Ignition | All 6 options including Fire Glow |
| Maintenance | Occasional cleaning — avoid chlorine contact |
Hammered Copper
Hand-hammered copper is the most distinctive and premium material in the Coronado collection. Each piece begins with a warm, burnished copper tone and develops a natural verdigris patina over time — deepening in character and becoming uniquely yours.
The hammered texture catches and reflects firelight in a way no other material can replicate. This is fire pit as furniture, as art, as heirloom.
| Material | Hand-hammered copper |
| Color | N/A — natural copper patina develops over time |
| Weathering | Active — develops green/brown verdigris patina |
| Best For | Statement installations, luxury residential, hospitality |
| Ignition | All 6 options including Fire Glow |
| Coastal Note | Will patina more aggressively in salt air |
| Maintenance | None required — patina is the finish |
The Powder Coat Collection
Twenty-plus colours. One silhouette. The Coronado's powder coat finish opens up a range of design possibilities that concrete can't match — from architectural Matte Black to warm Trophy Bronze. Every colour is precision-applied to a steel body built for permanent outdoor life.
Hammered Copper — Living Material
Hammered Copper doesn't stay the same. It starts warm and burnished, then develops a natural patina over time — deepening, shifting, becoming uniquely yours. Every rooftop, every terrace, every installation writes its own finish. This is fire pit as heirloom.
Concrete That Looks Like Wood
The Coronado Wood Grain is hand-finished GFRC concrete with a surface texture that replicates natural wood grain — available in Ebony, Ivory, and Oak. It brings the warmth of timber to a material that never rots, fades, or warps. Organic character. Built to last decades.
Fire at the Water's Edge
The Coronado is built for the spaces you never want to leave. Pool decks, resort terraces, waterfront patios — wherever the evening deserves a focal point. Stainless Steel and GFRC Wood Grain finishes are ideal for high-humidity coastal and poolside environments.
